for Principals® |
|
In 1999 a group of principals from various U. S. design firms formed CAD
for Principals to examine the use of computer-aided design systems and
other technologies in architecture and related professions. Throughout
2000 the group launched a series of activities aimed at encouraging senior
design and construction industry professionals to engage in the evaluation
and implementation of technology in their business.
The goals of CAD for Principals are to:
|
|
• |
Analyze and document the prevailing uses of CAD and related technologies
in building design and construction.
|
• |
Define needed developments and improvements in current technologies |
• |
Identify requirements and best practices for effectively implementing
technologies to make a difference for individual businesses in the industry.
|
• |
Generate participation by professionals and companies, industry-wide, to
establish a broad-based, clearly defined vision of what tools and technologies
are needed for building design and construction, and what actions need to
be taken to drive the development and effective implementation of those
tools. |
